End of Life Care

At Liberty Vet Services, we understand how difficult it is to say goodbye to a beloved pet. That’s why our end of life care services are designed to make this difficult time as peaceful and stress-free as possible. We will work with you to ensure that your pet’s final moments are spent surrounded by love and comfort. We offer a range of options for end of life care, including hospice care and euthanasia. Let us help you through this difficult time with care and understanding. Cremation and other memorial services may be arranged with our assistance or we are happy to coordinate with your plan.

Knowing when a pet can no longer enjoy a sufficient quality-of-life is one of the most challenging issues we address together with our clients. It is very rare that we are ready to say goodbye, but there are times when, for the sake of our beloved critters, we must find the strength to help them end their suffering. Some of the considerations we find to be important are whether a critter still eagerly eats its meals, is able to stand and walk out to the potty with reasonable assistance at least a few times a day, and whether they continue to recognize and enjoy their people. If any of these are in question, it may be time to have their quality of life assessed.

Euthanasia costs between $75-150 (plus a mileage based housecall fee) for animals under 80lbs and increases from there based on weight and temperament as aggressive patients may require additional medications to safely perform euthanasia.
